Welcome to Kaybrook Green Hills Swimming and Diving! It's hard to believe that another year has passed and it is once again time for another exciting summer at Kaybrook! I am looking forward to seeing returning swimmers and divers from last year as well as meeting new members of the team. In addition, I am very excited to work with the experienced and enthusiastic coaching staff that we have this summer!
My name is Jon Thielen and this will be my fourth season coaching at Kaybrook, my first as head coach. I am really excited for the opportunity to be head coach of such a successful and fun team that I really enjoy being a part of. I just finished my sophomore year at the University of Maryland, where I am majoring in International Business. I am also a member of the Maryland Terps swim team. I swam for the Kaybrook swim team for ten seasons, so I have many great experiences and memories from summer swimming. I also swam four years for Parkland High School, where I competed at the district and state levels. I am really excited for this season and hope that the team enjoys it as much as I know I will!
Bryan Pepper is returning for his second season as assistant swim coach and will be coaching the blue group. Bryan just finished his freshman year at Drexel University where he is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and a member of the Dragons swim team. Bryan also swam for Parkland High School for all four years. He qualified for states three years in a row for the 200 and 500 freestyle. He was a District Champion in the 500 his senior year, and received the L.V.A.C All Star Team award and an AllKaybrook Green HillsAmerican Scholastic Athlete Award. In addition, he swam for Kaybrook for three years and won an event at championships all three years. "I'm ready for the season to come so we can work hard, get better, and win another championship!"-Coach Bryan
Alli Fronheiser is returning for her second year as an assistant coach and will be coaching the white group this summer. Alli is finishing her sophomore year at Villanova, where she is studying Communication. As a member of the Kaybrook swim team since she was nine years old, Alli loves the atmosphere and enthusiasm involved in summer swimming. She was a member of the Allentown Central Catholic swim team for all four years of high school and served as captain during her senior year. "I'm excited to be back on the pool deck and working with the team again. I know it's going to be a fun summer!" -Coach Alli
Rachel Amiano will be coaching the dolphins group this summer. This is her fifth year working at Kaybrook, and her second as a swim coach. She will be a junior next fall at Villanova where she is majoring in Biology, with a minor in Spanish. She is also a member of the Villanova Club swim team. Rachel has been a Kaybrook member all of her life and a part of the Kaybrook swim team for ten years. In addition, she was a member of the Allentown Central Catholic swim team for four years and served as captain with Coach Alli in her senior year. Rachel was a part of the district team each year at Central. Rachel enjoys working with younger children and has many experiences with them. "I am really looking forward to working with the swim team this year!" -Coach Rachel
Lauren Amiano is one of the three new additions to our coaching staff this season and will be one of the two rookie coaches! Lauren is a graduating senior at Allentown Central Catholic High School and in the fall, will be attending DeSales University to major in Nursing and specialize in pediatrics. She will also be swimming on the DeSales intramural swim team. As a Kaybrook member her whole life, Lauren participated on the KBGH swim team for nine years. In addition, she was a district swimmer for the Allentown Central Catholic swim team for four years and a captain her senior year. Lauren loves working with children and has previously instructed them while volunteering as rookies coach last year, providing swim lessons, and babysitting. "I am really looking forward to coaching the Rookies Team this year!" -Coach Lauren
Morgan Lauchnor will be joining Lauren as a first year rookies coach this summer. She will be a freshman next fall at the University of Pittsburgh and will be majoring in PreKaybrook Green HillsPhysical Therapy. She has been a Kaybrook member since she was eight and part of the Kaybrook swim team for ten years. She was also a member of the Parkland High School district team for four years and has swam on club teams such as PAAC, EMAC, and West End since the age of six. She likes working with children and has taught swim lessons the past two years at Kaybrook. "Ever since I began swimming for Kaybrook I've been looking forward to coaching, so I'm really excited to finally be a part of the coaching staff! I am especially looking forward to coaching the rookies along with Lauren and cannot wait for another great season!"Kaybrook Green Hills Coach Morgan
Greg Kemper will be joining the Kaybrook coaching staff this summer as diving coach! This is Greg's eighth year as part of the Kaybrook diving team. He has also been a part of the Parkland High School diving team, where he was the Lehigh Valley Conference and District 11 champion, and a competitor at the State Championship Meet. He will be a freshman majoring in Biochemistry at Boston University next year and will also be a part of the swimming and diving team there. "I am extremely excited to be able to share my experience from my past years diving with both the KBGH and Parkland Diving teams with all of our Kaybrook divers this year!" -Coach Greg
